COVID FAQ for Members
Here is what we know…
When are you opening?
Currently each State has different opening dates and opening restrictions in relation to the amount of people allowed in the club at one time. World Gym is working hard on our COVID opening plan with each state regulatory body to enable us to open with as many members as possible.
What we know as of today (27th May):
Western Australia clubs are open currently with 20 people in a Group Fitness class. They will move to open with no limit on numbers from 15th June.
Queensland clubs are currently permitted to run Outdoor classes with 9 people, some of our branches have chosen to start these classes. Next Stage starts 13th June, this is currently set at 20 people for the whole facility. We understand this is being reviewed and are waiting (with fingers crossed) that this may be increased. Most of our branches can not sustain opening for only 20 people, but we are considering options for small group training and booking sessions.
New South Wales clubs currently have no news regarding the facilities opening. We are waiting for an announcement from the NSW Government.
Will the whole gym be open?
When we re-open officially we would like to have all areas of our club available, but if restrictions are in place that prevent us from opening certain areas we will work within those restrictions.
Will the Creche reopen?
We very much hope this service will not be affected. We have not seen anything to indicate the Creche will be affected but we will follow any guidelines set out to protect our littlest members.
Will the gym be open 24hrs?
Opening 24 hrs for our members is what we are aiming for, but maintaining cleanliness and controlling numbers are important parts of the recovery so we are working on what that will look like for us. We do not have an official statement on this at this time from the government or fitness Australia as whether this will be included in initial reopening stages.
How will you keep the gym safe?

When do payments start?
We will be lifting the suspensions on members accounts when we have a firm date to re-open, billing will commence on the day we start trading officially with doors open to all. Members that do not feel comfortable returning to the facility will be able to suspend their account again on request.
All members will be notified via email before billing recommences.
Can new members get started on a discounted rate?

We can assure you that as a member of a World Gym club you will be the first to hear about when we are re-opening. We will be predominantly communicating via email so please advise your home club if your email has changed. Please bear with us as we navigate the directions from the Government, our staff are doing their best to help with your questions but we don’t have all the answers.
